Dog Harness FAQs
What is the best dog harness for my dog?
The best harness for your dog will be comfortable for him to wear and give you the right amount of control and confidence when you walk together. We've designed harnesses for dogs that pull, harnesses for small dogs and harnesses for large dogs.
- Our Easy Walk® No Pull Harnessis vet and trainer recommended. This dog training harness will help teach your dog better leash manners and help redirect pulling. We also offer no-pulldog harnessesin fun patterns with as much personality as your playful pup.
- Dog harnesses with a handle provide pet parents with more hands-on control during walks and can help you lift your dog in and out of the car.
- The 3 in 1 Dog Harnessis a comfortable dog harness that is a great dog training harness and can also be used to help keep your dog safe and secure in his own seat during car rides.
- The Gentle Leader® Headcollarloops around your dog's nose instead of his neck or shoulders like other harnesses. This means when your dog pulls, the headcollar gently moves his head toward you so he can refocus his attention on you and away from the tempting squirrels and distracting smells.
Are harnesses safe for dogs?
Yes! Harnesses are a safe and comfortable way to take your dog for a walk or jog. Harnesses are safe for dogs of any age, size or breed. When choosing a harness, carefully measure your dog to make sure you choose a size that will fit him best.
How should a dog harness fit?
A dog harness should fit your dog snugly around the chest but have enough room that you can comfortably fit two fingers between your dog and the harness. You want the harness to be comfortable for your dog to wear, so make sure that it's not too loose to prevent it from sliding around, or too tight to prevent the harness from rubbing your dog's skin.
