The Ultrasonic Bark Control Collar uses an ultrasonic tone to deter nuisance barking. The collar is lightweight, water-resistant, and comfortable. A low battery indicator will alert you to when the 3-volt lithium batteries should be changed.
I'm sure i just need to play with the collar more, so I'll reserve my judement a bit longer!
Put the collar on the barker, and she followed me around, I kid you not, two feet behind me all day?? Was annoying, and I didn't figure out until later that she was freaked out. I flipped the box to the top of her neck and noticed the red light kept going off?? She was getting blasted with sound all day!
Everything sets it off, I took off her regular collar because the tags clinking set it off, thought that was the problem but then noticed that the dogs nails on the hardwood sets it off, talking to the dog sets it off, etc.
I need this to really work, so I'm going to try a piece of tape over the speaker. If that doesnt work, I'll put it on the other dog. Lol
I have to try something, small dog barks even when people walk by the house. Maybe the hand held one would have been beter?
PETSAFE RESPONSE: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the Ultrasonic Bark Collar. We are sorry to hear that your pet was upset and can understand your concern! Please know that the Red LED light will flash when the unit is activated, but can also flash every few seconds to indicate a low battery. Also, pets can show surprise at first, but you should notice a reduction in her barking within the next few days. To help with training, we recommend to reassure your pet with a calm, soothing voice. Soon she will understand that if she is quiet, the tone will stop. Please remember that training does take time, and to only use this product when you do not want your pet to bark. I recently moved into an apartment with my 6 year old lab, who has always barked, but never been an annoying barker...until the move, that is. She went bananas and the first time I left her for work, she barked the ENTIRE five hours I was gone. I didn't realize how bad the problem was until I pulled into the parking lot and could hear her barking (our apartment is the furthest from the parking lot). Being a college student in a college apartment, noises are common. But 5 hours of non-stop barking, according to our neighbors, was too much, since the only time she barks non-stop is when she's home alone. Needing a quick fix, I ran to petco and bought the cheapest bark collar I could find and picked up this. I was a little skeptical, but today was her first full day in the collar and she did great! Neighbors said she'd bark once or twice and then stop. Before the collar, she used to bark like mad out of excitement when she heard my key in the lock. Today, she didn't make a sound. I'm pretty pleased so far, and I'm hoping the results will continue.
The only complaints I have are that I think the LED light is opposite of what it's supposed to be and I had to tape her ID tags together. The green light blinks every 5 seconds, whereas the instructions say it should only blink once when it turns on. Not sure what's up with that and couldn't get anyone on the phone to figure it out, but I don't think that's a huge issue. I also had to tape her ID tag and her rabies tag together, because if she was wearing the ultrasonic collar, her tags jingling would set off the sound even when she wasn't barking. While that's annoying having to retape them often, I'll take that over her barking any day.
PETSAFE RESPONSE: Thank you for taking time to provide feedback on your experience with the Ultrasonic Bark Collar. We are happy to hear that you've experienced success with this device, but we apologize you were unable to get in touch over the phone. Please know we will be attempting to contact you to provide assistance.
We can understand your confusion regarding the flashing green light. Earlier versions of this bark collar would only flash a green light once, while later versions flash a green light every 5 seconds. If a red light flashes once every 5 seconds, however, this indicates a low battery.
Because this system is designed to respond to your dog's bark, it is possible for the tags to cause unintended activation, especially if they are near the collar's microphone. Depending on when and where you use this device, it may be best to remove his tags temporarily. We also have ultrasonic indoor and outdoor products available if they may be a better suit for your needs.

This might work, but it goes off for more than just barking. We saw the dog relaxing on the couch with the red light going on. We took it off and noticed it would turn red for just normal talking to it. It would even turn red from just blowing on it.
How is a device going to work for barking if it goes off for any noises, even slight noises. I thought maybe there would be a control for sensitivity, but I cannot find one. This is a rescue dog and the schlock collar was really scaring it, we thought this might be more humane.
Nice idea, false reactions.
PETSAFE RESPONSE: We are sorry to hear that the design of the Ultrasonic Bark Control Collar does not meet your expectations! Please know that this bark control device is built to hear the average dog's bark, and when the collar is emitting a tone, the LED light would be green. If you are seeing a red LED light, it is a good indication that your battery is low, and will need to be replaced soon.
