brand new reciever . Broken tabs on removal of battery cover . Not impressed at all . I went on the pet safe website to buy replacement cover but they are unavailable. I sent message and am awaiting a response. Thanks.

Please know that your system is covered by a 1 year warranty and that we do have replacement battery doors in stock and they are available through our Customer Care Center. I agree with other reviews. The battery cap is very easy to break, and when it does, it will not hold the batteries. I have had this happen several times, and I just continue to buy new collars. But this could be easily fixed by making the cap more sturdy with some material that is not plastic. COME ON PETSAFE. YOU CAN DO BETTER THAN THIS. Tell your manufacturer to fix it or you will get someone else. They will fix it.

The reason for writing this review is I purchased Pawz Away system in which this type of cap was a part of. The first time I installed the batteries and closed the cap by turning the cap one of the plastic lugs that holds the cap in place broke. I feel that this is due to poor manufacturing by the maker of the product. If a stronger plastic or a metal lug was used it would be better for this unit.
I will say when I called PetSafe they sent me a new cap for free since it was under warranty. I looked on their website and found a cap repair kit for about $9. So by seeing this repair kit this must be a recurring problem with the caps. I hope that PetSafe reads this review and will make changes to this item so in the future there will not be complaints like mine. I will post a future review upon receiving my replacement cap kit.
