Our Pets Love it!, 3/3/14
We have had ours for several months and we really like it. As a matter of fact the cats were at my feet begging for it tonight while I cleaned the fountain. We have 1 dog and 2 cats and they all use the same fountain. It does require a bit more cleaning and recurring cost than we originally realized but it still a great product. I advise anyone to not let the cleaning go more than recommended because it will burn up the pump. If the waterflow gets too slow and I don't have time to clean it right then, I unplug it to save the pump and clean it later. I have made it a habit to clean ours every Sunday (just an easy day for me to remember). Hair clogs the filter and saliva makes everything that the water come in contact with slimy. It does take a little effort and small brush to get to all the nooks to clean it properly and I would recommend the brush set that Petsafe offers for $9.99 or get something similar. I haven't tried putting it in the dishwasher yet, but I may try that soon.

Garbage water in - garbage water out, 8/29/13
Just purchased this because my plastic animal planet water dish kept get slimy pink and black stuff on it, and I am concerned about my pets drinking from plastic. In response to the person who had sediments in their water clogging the filter, don't blame the water dish. Tap water is dangerous. And the chemicals used as processing plants do not remove giardia and cryptospordium. I purchase and drink use only 5-filtered water for me and my pets from the grocery store, in refillable non-pvc bottles. And I used 5-filtered water in my pets water flowing dishes. You cannot filter water too much. Filtering, however, at least the 5-filtered that I buy, not only removes harmfull stuff, but also removes minerals. I remineralize the water with a touch of natural seasalt. I also use Breathless plaque-zapper packets in their water.

Love the Stainless, 8/9/13
Bought this bowl to replace my cats' old drinkwell platinum. It's a bit BIG (esp width), but I wanted something in stainless steel.

Stainless Steel
Uses full size filters(same as platinum)
Easy to set up & take apart/easy to clean
Runs VERY quiet

Cons (the reasons I gave 4 stars and not 5):
Flat, narrow flow of water-"spout" often gets clogged/seperates into multi streams which can cause splashing

I've only had it for a couple days, but I like it well enough so far-waiting to see how the cat takes to it. I would prefer a more D or O shaped spout (like on the platinum) to prevent clogging and multi streams. It would be awesome if Drinkwell/Petsafe would remake these things in the future. Also would be great if they would make it in 2 sizes; cat/small dog and med/large dog. My small dogs prefer drinking out of the higher spout on their platinum vs. the bowl I don't know how well they would like the Zen (since the flow is flat/wide and low...and very far back on the bowl)

A resevoir tank would be great as well (but the design shape would have to be made more oval like the platinum), but it's not too much trouble to refill it every couple days.

Frankly, I wish that Drinkwell would just make the Platinum body in Stainless steel and change the filter screen area to be more like the Zen (wide filter grate/filter/pump). Or somehow combine these 2 models to make a more ideal fountain.

Watch out if you have any kind of water deposites in your water!, 7/20/13
I bought this fountain so I would have enough water for my dog and cat as they use the same bowl. The Black main part that the pump hooks up to that the water then comes out and is supposed to be flat to land on the metal ramp doesn't work correctly. It did when I first purchased it but it doesn't come apart to be cleaned properly so if you have hard water or you get build up in your shower expect the same build up to happen inside the thin little opening the water is supposed to come out flat out of. I am going through my second replacement of the black piece even with trying to clean it out with White Vinegar it still gets build up. I wish you could take it all the way apart so you can clean it properly. I am just so disappointed that I wasted my money on this water fountain when I could have spent half this on something else that you can clean more efficiently.
