Pump Noise, 7/17/14
by
The pump motor was noisey at first. The noise was not coming from the water falling as in the previous post. I rubbed some vasoline on the impeller shaft and now there is no noise at all. Works great!

Very satisfied customer, 7/10/14
by
I've have a drinkwell fountain that I purchased for my cat over 8 years ago. I had a freak accident which severed the cord/motor to the fountain. I was very happy that I found this motor rather than shelling out $40+ to replace the entire fountain. This motor is the exact one for my existing fountain. I received the motor promptly and installed in a snap. It works perfectly and I'm very glad I located Petsafe. I'm not sure why the other reviews are not positive but I already had the fountain which works great and makes minimal noise. The noise comes from the water fall from the fountain. The motor is very quiet. if you're just looking for the replacement part, this is the place to get it from.

Product Defective, 6/15/14
by
This product is defective. The reason why it makes so much noise is that the propeller is just a bit too long for the fountain. The part where you screw it in doesn’t have enough threads, therefore it never seals. Please be aware this company is on the east coast and only works until 5, which for those on the west coast is 2. So there is no way to work with them on a solution. Very disappointed.

PETSAFE RESPONSE: We are sorry to hear that the Original Replacement Pump has failed to meet your expectations. Please know that this product is backed by a 1 year warranty, and we would be happy to offer troubleshooting and replacement assistance.
The pump is held in place by a magnet, and it is designed to fit the Original Drinkwell Fountain. If the motor is loud or noisy, we would recommend to lubricate the impeller/impeller pin with edible cooking oil (such as canola, vegetable, or olive) and ensure that there are 3 impeller blades. If the blades are broken or missing, this can set it off balance and create noise.
If you are still experiencing trouble, please contact our Customer Care Center at 1-800-732-2677. Our office hours are Monday through Friday 8 A.M. – 8 P.M. EST and Saturdays 9 A.M. – 5 P.M. EST.

Terrible design, 4/19/14
by
I have owned my dog water fountain for six months now, Besides always having a loud humming noise, it has a terrible water flow design. When my dogs come in from digging in the yard or playing with their dog toys they drink the water from the fountain and the dirt on their faces falls in the trough, the dirt then gets caught in the pump causing a grinding sound. After the pump (if it's still turning with the dirt in it) it goes threw the filter. I believe the water should have gone threw a filter before the pump to prevent pump damage caused by the dirt chewing up the pump. I now have a high priced water bowl that no longer works. I refuse to purchase a new pump that will only last six months for an additional $16.
