I have owned my dog water fountain for six months now, Besides always having a loud humming noise, it has a terrible water flow design. When my dogs come in from digging in the yard or playing with their dog toys they drink the water from the fountain and the dirt on their faces falls in the trough, the dirt then gets caught in the pump causing a grinding sound. After the pump (if it's still turning with the dirt in it) it goes threw the filter. I believe the water should have gone threw a filter before the pump to prevent pump damage caused by the dirt chewing up the pump. I now have a high priced water bowl that no longer works. I refuse to purchase a new pump that will only last six months for an additional $16.
