I have a main coon, she is huge and I don't mean fat! this is the only harness that will fit her comfortably so far. She is very strong and when we first went out onto the screened in porch..She freaked and nearly got out of the harness because she is so strong she gave the unit a real test, it didn't come off but for security I placed a collar with identification on it on her neck and attached to the first metal loop closest to her neck with a small tether that had a clip on both ends. The tether was from an old camera bag, it is long enough to give her freedom but if she starts to pull she feels it around the neck first. I know it defeats the purpose of the freedom, but I'm the one who feels safer with it on. As soon as she is comfortable with the outdoors and my neighbor's dog barking at her from behind the fence, I will remove the tether, even though she is chipped, first sight identification says's "I belong to someone" . I hope this helps. Oli

So my cat has always been really curious about being outdoors, but we live in the city in a condo- so even if I was okay with outdoor-indoor cats (and I'm not), I wouldn't be able to let him roam around whenever he pleases. So, we got him the come-with-me-kitty harness!

At first he seriously hated the thing. He even bit me once out of frustration. We stopped trying to get him to like the harness after that. But, I decided to try again one day when he was meowing at the door and pawing at the door handle (yes. He CAN open doors. He's too smart.) we took him out again on the harness, this time with little fuss. After some patience and waiting for his cues, he's now really eager to go out and roam the condo halls (we're working up to taking him outside) and no longer hunches down/belly crawls around. He walks and takes me everywhere he can now.

My only concern is that the harness does not make me feel like it's 100% secure, even with proper fitting. It fits him nicely, but once he was spooked by someone out in the halls, and he jumped around so much that the harness nearly came all the way off. Which scares me for when I attempt to take him outside.

I'd say all in all, it's not a bad harness especially for training purposes, but it doesn't make me feel super confident about taking him outdoors quite yet.

I did not adopt my cat until she was already three. Being raised strictly as an indoor cat I was curious as to how she would react when going outside. After wearing this leash for a day or so inside we decided to take a journey outdoors. She almost immediately loved it. The first couple of times she would take two steps, stop, look back, swat at it the leash then continue walking. Once she got used to always having me around to watch her she started wandering further. I have never witnessed a cat acting so similar to dogs (do not let them hear this though) !

She now seems to get excited every time I grab the leash. Jumping around, purring, and meowing at the door because she understands what the leash means. The harness itself was not that difficult to put on, but having a cooperating animal was extraordinarily helpful.

Even if your feline just wants to go outside to sit on the porch this harness can provide the safety and security that is needed for our purring friends.

I live in an area where I used to be able to let my cats outside, but now there is too much traffic and it is not safe to do this. I bought this harness and leash to be able to take my cats outside safely and it works really well! You do have to go through a training process with your cat though. Don't expect to just put it on your cat and expect them to walk in it immediately. There are many good training videos online. The illustrations included make putting the harness on easy. There aren't "a zillion straps" and the instruction are not even remotely similar to "reading physics". It may take 5-10 minutes, that's it. My cats are secure in this harness and I love the bungee leash, too. I have even attached my dogs cable tie out to this harness and it works nicely.

I have two larger cats and I can NEVER find a harness in the store that will fit. They are each about 15-20 pounds and the large is perfect! I am so pleased that I found a harness that fits them well!

Also...the regular shipping was super fast. I ordered it late Sunday evening and the product was delivered Wednesday morning.

Overall very pleased with my purchase!

I like the design of this harness. It does take a little getting used to for the cat of course, but the no choke design is great. However, be careful of the sizing. I have a 7 month old, 7 pound lanky kitten and the small size (at its largest capacity was very tight on her). Returning for a medium. I doubt very much the small would fit a 16 pound cat, as is stated on the package.

PETSAFE RESPONSE: Thank you for your feedback! We are sorry to hear of the trouble you have encountered with the sizing, and we can understand your concern! For the best fit, we recommend to measure the girth of your cat and visit our sizing chart to properly identify which harness would be best for you. I ordered the small harness for our kitten after reading up on the subject of leash training cats (we started here: http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/virtual-pet-behaviorist/cat-behavior/teaching-your-cat-walk-leash). I've owned a half-dozen cats over the years, but this is my first attempt at leash-training. So far, so good.

Yes, the harness took a little getting used to, for both of us. Our kitten - now 4 months old - still doesn't care for the process of getting it over her head - I have to set her on my lap to do it. But this is a pretty minor inconvenience - it just takes a moment and once done, I have no problem fastening the girth straps... after I fit the harness over her head, I give her a treat (a small spoonful of strained meat baby food), which she's so busy lapping up that she's oblivious to what I'm doing. And once the harness is in place, she's perfectly fine with it - it doesn't seem to bother her at all.

We've been taking her out daily, and it's obvious she enjoys being outdoors. We haven't tried training her to walk on it yet - rather, we just take her out and follow her around. But I'd like to work up to directing her - at least for short distances.

In addition to writing this review, I'm also here to order the "medium" leash... our kitty is growing up fast, so I want to be prepared. Her training been going well so far, so the "Come With Me Kitty" harness looks like a keeper!

GREAT harness & leash for felines. Specially designed to prevent cats from being able to get out of them when fitted properly. Comes in a variety of colors and sizes which is nice as well. There is a "training" process to get cats to feel comfortable walking on a harness & leash, but its a great way to increase your cat's exercise, a nice way to enjoy your time together, and a safe way for your cat to experience the outdoors.

My girl, Tiffany, loves walking on her harness & leash! I use it on her about once a week, especially when I take her to work with me!

**I would like to note that not all cats can (or should) be harness & leash trained. Please keep in mind your own cat's personality and medical needs. Do not bring your kitten/cat outside without all of their vaccinations being completely up to date. Also make sure to flea, tick and worm treat regularly.

I do use these leads in my garden with my persian cats . Obviously they didn't like it at first because it is un natural to them so you have to put in time and train a cat to a lead a few minutes a day and build up to longer untill they love it . I also use these leads for walking my 3 chihuahuas . These are the best leads ever as they give my dogs a little freedom but not too much to get tangled like a retractable lead . Fab !!!!

I rarely review anything on the internet, especially negative ones that might hurt businesses, but my experience with this product was so terrible that I felt the urge to express my frustration and warn potential buyers. Summary: waste of money, time and nerves.

1: The very concept of putting a cat on a leash is wrong. This product gives you the illusion that this is an okay idea, but it is not; it's against cats' nature. But let's you wanted to go ahead and design something anyway, at least make it simple and practical because of course, you are putting it on a live cat!

2: The designers missed the concept of simplicity. First, the instructions. Oh my God. It's like reading a physics text book, worse. You might as well get a PhD on the subject. Why make this so complicated? It's a challenging experience to begin with, but their instructions is a special torture all by itself even before you begin trying to put it on.

3: Now the product itself. Again as the instruction suggests, they missed the concept of simplicity. Zillion straps, side straps and other concoctions. Again, the design has not internalized one important fact: you are putting this on a live cat!

4: My cat absolutely HATED it! We went out, and she immediately figured out how to get it off, and started to run loose, frustrated and agitated. I was so afraid I would lose her, but she came back. To be fair to the makers of this product, may be a factor to weigh is how uniquely independent my cat is so that is probabaly an important factor, but regardless:

Summary: please do yourself and your cat a favor, don't buy this.

PETSAFE RESPONSE: We are sorry to hear that the Come With Me Kitty Harness and Leash has failed to meet your expectations! We can understand how frustrating this experience can be, especially with an independent cat. We do appreciate that you decided to try our harness, and we thank you for your time and feedback on the design and packaging. My kitty "almost" sits still to get his harness on. Whoever designed this cat harness is a genius: it adjusts easily to the girth of the growing cat. The accompanying brochure reminds us to start early with taking a kitten on a leash, at least by 12-16 weeks. That's the secret of success.

I have a Siamese that Loves to go outside. However, we live in a city now and he cant. So its Come with me kitty to the rescue. He loves it. He can safely go outside with me, roam around, walk down the street and investigate, without any danger. The only downside I have with the product is the leash. It got chewed up by the new puppy we have and you cant get replacements without buying a whole new set. ( the leash is great for walking puppies too.)
